You need 3 4 inch plywood. Joist spacing and attic use the joist spacing in some attics is 24 inches and 1 2 inch sheets will sag and possibly break when spanning that distance. However the same can t be said if you are planning on using the space as a living space. Don t use 7 16 osb as it is intended for external sheathing and isn t strong enough to be used as a floor.
